Hector was born in Guatemala City, but grew up in Queens, New York, where he started playing football at a young age in the Latin American leagues and becoming a semi-pro soccer player at seventeen years old. He was drafted at 21 years old to represent Guatemala national team, based out of the New York tri-state area to compete in an East Coast world cup version tournament and other prestigious competitions.
Hector is Hall of Fame inductee at City College of New York, holding the school record for career goals to this date. Hector is known for his passion, discipline, and ability to elevate players through strong fundamentals and a player-first approach.
With over 25 years of coaching experience, and coach certifications, coach Hector has led teams at both the club and academy levels, earning numerous accolades along the way. Most notably, he was named New Jersey Youth Soccer Coach of the Year in 2011 and guided East Brunswick United FC to multiple state championships and national recognition. Many of his former players have gone on to compete at the NCAA Division I and II levels as well as internationally and national teams.
