Princeton FC Inter Crowned Jersey Shore Cup Champions After Dramatic Final
June 9, 2025 — Princeton FC Inter (2011 Boys) delivered a weekend to remember at the Jersey Shore Cup, emerging as U14 Gold Division Champions after a series of gritty performances, tactical execution, and high-pressure moments.
The tournament began with a confident 2–0 win over Lower Merion SC Olympia, where Inter set the tone with solid defending and sharp attacking play. The team followed up later that day with a commanding 4–0 victory over STA-MUSC 2011B USYS, showing off their depth, discipline, and control on both sides of the ball.
The group stage finale against Match Fit Academy FC 2011 Boys Shore Blue proved to be the pivotal test. With the score locked at 2–2 in the final minute — a result that would’ve seen Match Fit advance on goal differential — Inter showed their championship character. In the dying seconds, they surged forward and found the game-winning goal, securing a 3–2 victory and a dramatic ticket to the final.
In the championship match, Inter faced OGRCC Greenwich United B11 EDP 1 (CT) in a closely contested battle. After a scoreless 0–0 draw in regulation, the title came down to penalty kicks. The shootout stretched to seven tense rounds, with players and supporters holding their breath — and in the end, Inter held their nerve and came out on top, lifting the trophy in thrilling fashion.
Head Coach Yordan Hristov praised the group’s resilience and unity:
“The boys executed the tactical plan, adapted under pressure, and showed incredible mental toughness. I’m proud not only of the results, but of the spirit they brought on and off the field. This weekend showed what they’re capable of — individually and as a team.”
Congratulations to Princeton FC Inter on a phenomenal tournament and a well-earned championship!

November 2024
Our 2011 Boys Inter team had a fantastic showing at the EDP Fall Classic, finishing as runners-up after an intense weekend of soccer and a thrilling Final that came down to nine rounds of penalty kicks.
The tournament journey began with a matchup against Torpedoes Red, a team the boys faced previously at the Parsippany Tournament. Just like that encounter, the game ended in a 1-1 tie. With this result, Inter knew they needed strong performances in their remaining group games to secure a spot in the Final.
The team responded very well. In their second game, they displayed their attacking potential with a commanding 4-0 win against Rhode Island Surf. The momentum carried into Sunday morning’s decisive group-stage match against Connecticut Rush, where Inter dominated once again with a composed and clinical 3-0 victory. These results secured Inter’s place in the Final, setting up a rematch with a familiar and tough opponent, the Torpedoes Red again.
The Final lived up to its billing as a tense and dramatic encounter. Trailing late in the game, Inter delivered a stunning equalizer from a free kick just two minutes before full-time, sending the match into penalty kicks. After an incredible nine rounds of penalties, Inter narrowly missed out on the championship, falling 8-7 in the shootout.
This marks the third consecutive year that the 2011 Boys Inter team has reached the EDP Fall Classic Final, having won the tournament the previous two years. Congratulations to the players for their determination and teamwork, to the parents for their incredible support, and to our coaching staff for their leadership and guidance. It was a weekend filled with growth, resilience, and thrilling moments—well done, Inter!
